Tamas Doffek, together with his wife, founded The Braunfeld Group, a boutique investment firm based in Miami Beach, FL upon his arrival to the US in early 2014. His family-owned company invests in early-stage, technology driven companies in various industries.
He graduated with a dual-BSc in Economics from the Manchester Metropolitan University (UK) and the Budapest Business School (Hungary) and worked as an investment banker for PwC and Concorde Securities in Central and Eastern Europe for more than 7 years. Beginning in 2005, he was COO/CIO of a family-run office based in Luxemburg and in 2009, he became a self-employed serial entrepreneur and angel investor starting and building various businesses both in Central Europe and South Florida.
Throughout his career, he has been invited to join Boards of Directors of multiple public and private companies as well as non-profit organizations as non-executive director, among which he served as Chairman of the Board of the largest book publishing company in Hungary (2005-2014), a Director on the Management Board of Sanoma Learning (2006-2008), one of the largest listed educational publishers in Europe, and a Member of the Board of Directors (2009-2014) of the largest, listed security printing technology company in Central and Eastern Europe.
As a result of his outstanding achievements in business throughout his career, he was granted a green card to immigrate to the US in 2014 and has since become a naturalized US citizen in 2019.
He has also been active in launching and supporting several Jewish non-profits in his native Budapest Jewish community, like the Haver Foundation, which he co-founded over 20 years ago. He is also an active member of the vibrant Jewish life of Miami Beach. He is a member if the Board of Trustees at Temple Beth Sholom and is a regular supporter of various Jewish causes both in Hungary and in South Florida. Recently, he was selected to the 2023 Miami cohort of the Wexner Foundation's Heritage Program for Jewish volunteer leaders.
