Stacy Siegal is currently EVP and General Counsel at AEO, inc., a leading global specialty retailer offering high-quality, on-trend clothing, accessories and personal care products at affordable prices under its American Eagle® and Aerie® brands. She is currently managing the legal, HR, corporate communications and philanthropy functions, as well as acting as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board on all legal and employment-related matters. Her areas of responsibility include corporate governance, data security and privacy, litigation management, intellectual property, real estate, contracts, people support, talent management, human resources analytics, compensation, benefits, regulatory compliance and employment law.
Stacy has over 20 years of experience managing human resources, legal and business administration functions, primarily in the retail sector.
Prior to joining AEO, inc., Stacy was the SVP, Chief Legal and Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary at rue21, inc., leading both the legal and human resources departments for the company. During her tenure there, Stacy led the transition of rue21 from a private to a public company, and managed all public company responsibilities including securities filings, regulatory compliance, investor relations and stakeholder communication, prior to leading the transition from a public back to a private company.
Prior to joining rue21, Stacy worked as a Human Resources consultant, corporate counsel for General Nutrition Companies, Inc. and as a litigation associate in the largest women owned law firm in Washington, D.C.. Stacy earned her BA from Lehigh University and her JD from George Washington University. She currently lives in the Pittsburgh area with her husband Mark, and their three children: Joshua, Jillian and Drew.
