Mark Bregman

Managing Director; Vista Labs

Mark is Managing Director of Vista Labs and a technology industry veteran with more than 30 years’ experience commercializing innovation. He has held the CTO role with global technology firms including NetApp, Neustar, Symantec, and VERITAS and various senior management roles with IBM as well as leadership positions in startups (AirMedia and Booxby). Most recently Mark was CTO of NetApp, the world’s leading storage and data management company. He led the company’s portfolio strategy and innovation agenda to transform the company from a storage appliance business to a software and data management company. In his CTO roles he was active in Corporate Venture Capital.

He is dedicated to addressing the underrepresentation of women in the fields of computer science and engineering, serving from 2009-2018 as director of the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology. He also serves on the boards of the Bay Area Science and Innovation Consortium (BASIC) and Booxby, Inc.

Mark lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, a hotbed of entrepreneurial activity, where he is an avid cyclist and foodie.

Mark holds a PhD, an MA, and an MPhil in physics from Columbia University and an AB in Physics from Harvard College.
