Ivan Gerstein

Managing Director; Bank of Montreal

Ivan Gerstein is a Managing Director in the Capital Markets Supervision Team at Bank of Montreal, based in New York, where he provides managerial advice and oversight for trade surveillance and business conduct activities in North America. Over his 15-year tenure at BMO, Ivan has been involved in several acquisitions and initiative launches that have expanded his role within CM Supervision and previously within the Finance and Global Middle Office Departments.

He represents CM Supervision on multiple Risk and Regulatory Reporting Steering Committees as well as on numerous business and operational initiative assessments. Additionally, he faces off directly with regulators and assists in the coordination of regulatory exams and inquiries.

Ivan has two and a half decades of financial services experience, spanning many functions and products within the industry, previously at Bear Stearns, Marsh and McLennan, and Morgan Stanley in Business Unit Controller roles.

Ivan holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from New York University, a B.S. from University of Maryland in Accounting, a CPA, and several regulatory certifications.

Outside of work, Ivan is an active volunteer, current Board of Trustees member, and former Treasurer of his Synagogue.
