Todd Lowenstein

Managing Director; HighMark Capital Management

Todd Lowenstein is Managing Director and Chief Equity Strategist of HighMark Capital Management, Inc., an investment advisory subsidiary of MUFG Union Bank, N.A. He is responsible for daily investment decisions, which include monitoring existing holdings and researching new ideas for inclusion in the portfolios covering all sectors and industries. Todd is a member of both HighMark’s Investment Policy Committee and Asset Allocation Committee with oversight responsibility of the firm’s asset allocation strategies, operations, accounts review and compliance.

Todd joined HighMark Capital Management, Inc., in 2001 and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Previously, he worked at JP Morgan in mergers and acquisitions. He began his career as a senior manager at KPMG Peat Marwick in the information, communications, and entertainment group.

Todd earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from University of California at Santa Barbara, and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Strategy & Finance from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Society of Los Angeles, and is an adjunct professor in the Economics Department at UC Santa Barbara teaching investments and behavioral finance. Todd is a regular contributor to the financial news media including CNBC, Bloomberg TV & Radio, Fox Business, CNN, Barron’s, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Forbes, Fortune, Businessweek, Smart Money, the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Financial Advisors Magazine, Reuters, and Dow Jones.
