Marla Schaefer is the former Co-CEO and Co-Chairman of the Board of Claire's Stores, Inc. the largest publicly held accessory retailer in the world where she facilitated the sale of the company to private equity in 2007.
Marla is currently a Trustee of Teachers College, Columbia University; National and International Board Member of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science; Trustee of Temple Beth El Boca Raton Florida, Board Member of Women in Distress of Broward County; member of C200; and a Director of the Rowland & Sylvia Schaefer Family Foundation.
Marla attended University of Florida and is a graduate of Florida International University, 1974. She holds an M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, 2003. She and her husband reside in Boca Raton, Florida. They have two daughters.
