Lloyd Sprung is a Managing Director and Head of Debt Advisory & Restructuring, based in New York. He joined UBS in 2017.

Mr. Sprung has advised companies, creditors, equity and government constituents in restructuring and capital markets transactions across a variety of industries.   His expertise spans different types of complicated structured financing and recapitalization transactions for private and public companies, both in and out of court.  

Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Sprung was a Senior Managing Director in the Restructuring and Debt Advisory group at Evercore, which he joined in 2011. Mr. Sprung was also a Managing Director at Miller Buckfire & Co. and its predecessor firm, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, which he joined in 2001. Previously, Mr. Sprung was at Merrill Lynch, where he structured, originated and traded debt derivatives and distressed commercial real estate products and was involved in numerous bond and leveraged loan financing transactions.

Mr.Sprung has a M.B.A (with high distinction) from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar, and a B.A. (summa cum laude) in economics from theUniversity of Pennsylvania. Mr. Sprung is a member of the American BankruptcyInstitute and the Turnaround Management Association.  Mr. Sprung serves onAmbassadors Council for the College of Arts and Sciences of the University ofPennsylvania and the Advisory Board for Common Sense Media.
