General Counsel to CEO; Rockefeller Capital Management

I am the former General Counsel of Rockefeller Capital Management and currently serve as senior counsel to the CEO of the firm. Effective March 1, 2018, Rockefeller Capital Management acquired Rockefeller & Co., which began 135 years ago as the family office of John D. Rockefeller and has since expanded to provide a wide range of services to ultra-high net worth and high net worth individuals, families and institutions. Rockefeller Capital Management is headed by Greg Fleming, its chief executive officer, who previously was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and Morgan Stanley Investment Management and, before that, President of Merrill Lynch.

Earlier in my career, I was the General Counsel for UBS Wealth Management Americas and, prior to that, was the Co-Head of Global Litigation, Regulatory and Employment Law at Merrill Lynch, where I worked for 12 years. I have served as the Co-Chair of the SEC Enforcement and Civil Litigation section of the American Bar Association’s Business Law section; the Chair of the Corporation, Finance and Securities Law section of the D.C. Bar; a member of the Board of Trustees of the New York City Bar Justice Center; and a member of the Board of Editors for Lexis/Nexis securities law publications. I was also the first recipient of the Global Counsel Award recognizing outstanding achievement by an in-house lawyer in the field of litigation. I enjoy writing, and have written more than 60 published articles on legal developments affecting financial institutions. I received my bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and my J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
