Arthur Klein

Dr. Klein is a solutions-focused Senior Executive, Advisor, and Board Member with more than 25 years of success across the hospital and healthcare industries. His broad areas of expertise include leadership, team building, coaching & mentoring, business development, business process improvement, strategic partnerships, strategic planning, and growth strategies.

Dr. Klein holds a leadership position as the President of Mount Sinai Health Network, where he oversees the institution’s growing network of more than 150 clinical relationships. He is responsible for 18 affiliated hospitals, five nursing homes, and 12 physician group practices throughout New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties. He is also serving as the Executive Vice President of The Mount Sinai Hospital and Executive Vice President of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Klein has also served as the Regional Executive Director, Western Region, and the Senior Vice President for Pediatric Services of the North Shore-LIJ Health System. As Regional Executive Director, he was responsible for overall administrative oversight, building physician partnerships, and developing new opportunities for growth and investment.

Prior to his roles with North Shore-LIJ Health System, Dr. Klein additionally led as the Associate Dean for Strategy and Special Projects at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University & Senior Vice President and Chief Physician Officer at Lifespan for Rhode Island’s Academic Hospital System.

Dr. Klein obtained his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center and an undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Cardiology, has written extensively on pediatric cardiology. He also serves or has served, on a number of committees and boards, including the Board of Trustees of the Sackler School of Medicine/Tel Aviv University and the Board of Directors of the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families, Inc. He was the previous Chair of the Committee on Health Professions of the American Hospital Association and served on the Board of Directors of the Voluntary Hospital Association of America.
