Sarah Lent is a student at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. She graduated from Barnard College in 2020 with a B.A. in Psychology and Religion. At Barnard, she was heavily involved in both the Jewish and interfaith communities, coordinating events throughout the school year to bring people together. In addition to her involvement with JLSA at Penn Law, she is also a volunteer with the Innocence Project and a member of the Student Wellness Committee. In her free time, Sarah enjoys brewing and sipping great coffee, hiking, traveling, visiting aquariums, and spending time with her family.
Sholom LichtJLSA, Executive Board MemberHometown: Philadelphia
Sholom S. Licht is a student at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. A native of Queens, N.Y., Sholom attended Bar-Ilan University and Yeshiva University, where he received a B.A. and M.A. respectively, in Jewish studies. Sholom worked as an editor and translator for the Koren English Talmud Bavli project, as a teacher, and as the Director of the Executive Office of the Orthodox Union, before pursuing a legal career. In his free time, Sholom greatly enjoys the outdoors; skiing in the winter, hiking and camping in the summer, and biking all year round.
Stephen MattesCo-PresidentHometown: Bucks County, Pennsylvania
Stephen Mattes is from Doylestown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in 2020. At Emory, he served as the business school’s student body vice president and spent time weekly engaging with Atlanta’s Jewish community. Throughout the school year, you can find him watching his favorite hockey team, the New York Rangers, and can even catch him on the ice. In addition to serving as co-president, he is the treasurer of the Entertainment & Sports Law Society.
Olivia RosenzweigCo-President of Jewish Law Student Association (JLSA) at Penn LawHometown: Englewood, NJ
Olivia is a 2L at Penn Law. She previously attended the University of Chicago, graduating in 2019 with a BA in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations and an MA in International Relations. While at UChicago, Olivia volunteered helping local immigrants in the city study for their citizenship tests and was very active with the campus Jewish community. She speaks Hebrew and Arabic and is always looking for people to practice her skills with! Post-college and pre-law school, Olivia worked as a paralegal at a large immigration law firm in New York City. In addition to being co-president of the Jewish Law Student Association at Penn Law, this year she is also Director of Partnerships for the American Constitution Society, and a pro bono volunteer with the Penn Law International Refugee Assistance Project. During her free time, Olivia enjoys reading novels, journaling, running, and attempting to bowl with her team in the Penn Law Bowling League.
