Goldy was raised in Kiryas Joel, an insular Hasidic Shtetel where women like her were forbidden to drive, access the internet, or attend college. After escaping from Hasidicland, Goldy became an EMT, graduated college, and since worked, lived, and studied on six continents. A native Yiddish speaker with zero high school education, she is currently reconciling life between her sheltered upbringing and her passion for culturally sensitive, high quality patient care, by studying for her RN-MSN at JHU School of Nursing. More than anything, Goldy wants Off the Derech (OTD) to officially be recognized as a Jewish Denomination.
Hi all! I'm a recent summa cum laude graduate of UCLA, and now a MSN candidate here at Hopkins. I love photography, being with friends, and organizing mega events such as Jewish Graduation UCLA and UCLA's IOES Hollywood for Science Gala. I hope to get into aesthetics, management, and education after graduation- just your typical Persian girl ;) I am proud to serve as Member at Large alongside my amazing team, and can't wait to be a part of Jewish life here at Hopkins!
