2020-2021 Leadership
Alex Ben-Yosef
Executive Vice President Hometown: Cresskill, New Jersey
I spent most of my life growing up in Cresskill, New Jersey. After graduating from NYU, I came to Cardozo Law School. During my time at NYU, I was very involved with Jew Culture, and pro-Israel advocacy groups on campus. I look forward to continuing my involvement with the Jewish community by serving as a JLSA Vice-President!
Justin Gendler
Secretary Hometown: Fort Lauderdale, FL
My name is Justin Gendler and I am a rising 2L from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. For me, starting law school meant moving to a new state where I knew few people. Jewish student groups like the Jewish Law Students Association have been key in making that transition a smooth one. I will be the Secretary for JLSA this academic year and I am committed to helping other students feel that same sense of community at our school.
Karolina Katsnelson
TreasurerHometown: Franklin Lakes, NJ
My name is Karolina Katsnelson, a rising third-year at Cardozo School of Law. I am serving as Treasurer this year at Cardozo’s JLSA. I am very excited to begin this year (even through remote learning) with our talented and motivated E-Board to plan events and bring together the Jewish community at our school.
Sydney Lorch
Director of Events Hometown: New York, NY

I am from New York City and attended Indiana University-Bloomington before transferring to the University of Miami where I received a bachelor's degree in Journalism. During my undergraduate career at UM, I was the Director of Public Relations at UM Hillel and was an active member of Yachad. After graduating in 2018, I worked at an immigration law firm in NYC for a year before attending Cardozo Law. I have been involved in Jewish organizations throughout my life and I am excited to serve as the Director of Events for JLSA, where I will continue to promote and impact the Jewish community and connect students with their Jewish culture and heritage!

Elan Stiberman
PresidentHometown: Miami, FL
Elan Stiberman was born in Miami, Florida to an Argentinian father and Brazilian mother. From preschool to 12th grade, he attended Scheck Hillel Community School, a private, Jewish, co-ed school with a dual-curriculum in Judaic and Secular studies. After graduating high school in May of 2014, Elan pursued his B.B.A. from the University of Miami School of Business and graduated in December of 2017 with a double major in finance and legal studies. Since entering Cardozo Law in the fall of 2018, Elan became involved in its clinics, journals, and student organizations, including the Jewish Law Students Association (JLSA). As a 2L, Elan served as JLSA's Treasurer, and this year he is extremely proud to serve as its President alongside his incredible team.
Raquel Vasinkevich
Vice PresidentHometown: New York
I graduated from NYU in 2018 with a BA in Politics and Journalism. As a rising 3L, Cardozo has always allowed me to tap into my Jewish heritage, however, being part of JLSA allows me to help fellow Jewish students and future colleagues dissect religion and the law, complexities of being a proud Jew in today's political climate, and celebrate our achievements as a community. I look forward to building a robust network and pursuing a career in medical malpractice litigation.
