Dr. Levin is the Chairman and CEO of Ovid Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: OVID) and

concurrently the Chairman of Opthea (NASDAQ: OPT). Prior to founding Ovid, Dr. Levin

was the President and CEO of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (TLV: TEVA). Before

joining Teva, he was a member of the Executive Committee at Bristol-Myers Squibb

Company (NYSE: BMY), where he created and led the “String of Pearls” strategy, which

introduced immuno-oncology to the biopharma industry and mainstream medicine. Dr. Levin

joined BMY from Novartis (SWX: NOVN), where he served as the Global Head of Strategic

Alliances. He has been on the boards of multiple public and private companies. Additionally,

he is a member of the Board and Executive Committee of the Biotechnology Innovation

Organization (BIO), where he serves as Emeritus Chairman.

Dr. Levin earned a First-Class BA in Zoology and was subsequently awarded a Master's

degree and a Doctorate in Chromatin Structure from the University of Oxford. Thereafter, he

earned his medical and surgical degrees from the University of Cambridge, where he won the

Kermode Prize for his work on Captopril. In June 2019, he published one of the first books on

the Covid pandemic and the early steps taken to tackle the virus. “Biotechnology in the Time

of COVID-19” details the efforts of 47 biotechnology leaders as they developed vaccines and

Medicines.

In 2023, Dr. Levin was awarded the Scrip Lifetime Achievement Award. He was selected by

Endpoints in 2021 as one of the 60 living pioneers of the industry and was voted as one of the

25 most influential biotechnology leaders by Fierce Biotech, one of the top 3 biotechnology

CEOs by The Healthcare Technology Report, and one of the PharmaVoice 100 CEOs in 2020.

He is the recipient of the Albert Einstein Award for Leadership in Life Sciences and the B’nai

B’rith Award for Distinguished Achievement. Dr. Levin was born in rural South Africa and

has lived in Israel, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom before moving to the US. He

currently resides on a farm on the East Coast of the US.
